Sunday Dinner Galettes

I saw a TikTok where they made a galette with phyllo dough and a cast iron skillet. Five you tube videos and 20 recipes later and it is decided: Galettes for Sunday Dinner.

I made a savory one with Mushrooms, Onions, and Spinach along with a sweet one with Strawberries and Blueberries. I used phyllo dough for some and pie dough for others to see how they worked out. Store-bought dough because I am lazy. Overall, it was a success all around. I prefer the pie dough to the phyllo for handling and texture, but can see how some things might work well with it.

Circumstances kept most of the regulars from being able to show up, but FamilyDashCart delivered some to my sister in her Covid isolation. Also, my son’s girlfriend requested one to be delivered on Monday morning (which we did with a quick cook-up in the morning before delivery so it would not be a soggy mess).

Nifty, easy dish and will be on the favorites list now.
