Argument vs. Discussion vs. Shouting
Argument is pursuing a topic by presenting facts supported by demonstrable knowledge or reference to reliable sources and considering alternate sets of facts, knowledge, and references in a good-faith effort to explore the topic.
Discussion is casual coversation around a topic with or without reference to reliable information or sources, probably using much personal opinion in a good-will exchange of thoughts around the topic.
Shouting is bellowing out opinions with little consideration for opposing viewpoints, facts, or reliable knowledge.
We are shouting way too much, having too few discussions, and hardly ever having arguments.
